A team of dedicated employees from BSW Timber’s Carlisle site recently embarked on an awe-inspiring adventure to scale the UK’s three highest peaks, all in the name of supporting their local community. The aim was to raise funds for Gilford Park U9s, a budding youth football team in need of new kits and equipment.

The trio of intrepid climbers, Matt, Alex, and Dan, embarked on a challenging journey that took them to the summit of Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike. Despite facing adverse weather conditions and enduring minor injuries, their determination never wavered.

Unfortunately, due to 60-mile-an-hour winds atop Scafell Pike, the team had to cut their challenge short, missing out on conquering Snowdon. Nevertheless, their accomplishment in scaling Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike is a testament to their resilience.

What makes this feat even more remarkable is the charitable support from BSW Group’s CSR committee, who contributed to this noble cause. Its donation ensured that the young footballers of Gilford Park U9s would have the essential equipment needed to nurture their talent and development.

Matthew Brookes, a former Customer Service Assistant and one of the climbers, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the support from BSW, we were able to get all the equipment we needed to ensure the kids had the tools to enable them to develop. I’ll be forever grateful to BSW for their kind donation, which has made such a positive impact.”

BSW Timber is proud to have employees who go above and beyond to give back to their local community and help young talents thrive.
