BSW Group enters joint venture with Power Sheds
BSW Group has entered a joint venture with Power Sheds, a major disruptor in the sector since launching in 2019, and with a turnover in excess of £15m.
BSW Timber’s Group Sales Director is set to cycle over 600km for charity.
Mike Faulkner who is based at our Carlisle site will cycle the length of the island of Ireland, from Mizen Head in the south to Malin Head on the north coast.
Mike and his friend Janet McGeever aim to use the cycle to both raise money for charity and to mark a birthday milestone for Janet.
Through the ride, Mike will be raising funds for cancer charity Pancreatic Cancer UK while Janet will be cycling in aid of Donegal Down Syndrome.
Mike Faulkner, Group Sales Director, said: “This is a charity that’s close to my heart after recently losing my Aunty to the disease.
“It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within three months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case.
“We hope to help in a small way for Pancreatic Cancer UK to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.”
Mizen to Malin is known as the Irish ‘End to End’. The route will take Mike and Janet from the Mizen Peninsula cycling through the heart of Ireland over six days, taking in Janet’s home county finishing at Malin Head on Janet’s milestone birthday.
Pancreatic Cancer UK are supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future.
Any donations given to Donegal Down Syndrome Association helps fund causes such as; speech therapy, swimming and drama lessons, yoga, music and social outings as well as parent and toddler groups for people with Downs Syndrome in County Donegal.
Anyone wishing to donate to the cause can do so via Mike’s dedicated JustGiving page by clicking here or Janet's iDonate page here.
