BSW Timber had an evening at the awards last week as representatives visited Carlisle College as sponsors of the annual Carlisle College Awards Evening.
The coveted awards recognise the continuous effort and outstanding achievements of learners at the Cumbria based college.
There were 12 awards given out on the night with BSW Timber sponsoring the Work Placement of the Year award, which recognises a student who has fully embraced the opportunity that a work placement provides for developing their skills.
This year’s Work Placement of the Year award went to Adrianna Gowland from the social care sector for her placement in Carlisle.
Tony Lockey, Group Learning and Development Manager at BSW Timber, said: “It was a great night with some really exceptional young people, I was pleased to award the prize to Adrianna, who has shown that she’s fully embraced the opportunity to develop her skills not only within their sector but with regards to employability across the board and enhancing her career prospects.”
This is the second event BSW have attended recently with BSW Boat of Garten’s Alan Ward having attended the Inverness College Awards Evening recently, a testament to BSW Timber’s constant dedication to supporting young people’s employability.
