BSW Group enters joint venture with Power Sheds
BSW Group has entered a joint venture with Power Sheds, a major disruptor in the sector since launching in 2019, and with a turnover in excess of £15m.
BSW Timber has donated wood from its nearby mill in Boat of Garten for the construction of nest boxes at Abernethy Primary School, in partnership with the RSPB.
The donation is the latest in a line of contributions from BSW over the past five years, which has allowed for more than1000 nest boxes to be built and distributed in the local area.
Pupils in P5 and P6 at Abernethy Primary worked together to construct the boxes, with the help of David Mills, mill manager for BSW Timber at Boat of Garten, David Carrott, from the Nethybridge Community Woodland, and Ross Watson, Operations Team Leader from RSPB. The completed boxes will be donated to Nethy Community Woodland to improve habitats for local wildlife, and the children will also have a chance to take a box home for their own gardens.
Ross Watson said: “Attracting birds and encouraging them to inhabit our community woodland spaces is always a priority at this time of year, and we’re grateful to BSW for donating the materials that have enabled us to do this. It’s also been a pleasure to have worked with the children at Abernethy Primary, and we hope they’re encouraged to pursue an interest in the world around them and give nature a home”.
David Mills, mill manager for BSW Timber at Boat of Garten, said: “Supporting the local community is a key priority for us at BSW Timber, and we’re pleased to be able to do so in partnership with Abernethy Primary and the RSPB. Over the past five years, we have donated enough timber to construct more than 1000 nest boxes in the local community and beyond, and we’ll continue to support our communities as we look to the future.”
