BSW's Constructive Timber Online Learning
This online training course has been designed specifically with the needs of timber specialists and builders merchants staff in mind. The content has been written by an independent trainer with 30 years of timber trade experience and knowledge.
The content covers exactly the same areas as the one day course and is delivered through a blend of text, pictures, illustrations, interactive graphics, and activities. Users can also make use of a glossary of terms, and ask the expert options.
Trainees complete a test at the end of each section and upon successful completion they receive a certificate to add to their CV.

Constructive Timber Training One Day Course
Delivered by an independent trainer, this one day course is designed to empower your employees with the knowledge to sell added value timber products that are fit for purpose. The course covers:
- the basic essentials of wood
- the naming of timbers
- hardwoods
- softwoods
- certification
- drying of timber
- moisture in timber
- grades and qualities of timber
- strength grading
- preservative treatment for timber
Flexibility of locations means that the course can be held at any one of
our 7 locations in the UK, or at a hotel near to your branch.
Employees are given the knowledge to enable them to sell more added value timber products that are fit for purpose.
Training materials including notebook, folder and handouts are provided free of charge. The number of trainees is kept between 12-20 to ensure each trainee receives quality time with the trainer.
After a short test successful trainees receive a certificate to add to their CV.
