Build Center puts competition winner in the driving seat
A customer at Build Center’s Clacton-on-Sea branch has driven away a brand new Toyota Hilux HL3 after triumphing in a national competition.
Nick Leatherbarrow from Clacton won the vehicle, worth more than £19,000, after his entry form was pulled out of the hat by BSW timber. The company ran the competition throughout Build Center’s 240 branches to promote its Easi-Edge timber range.
Nick, 38, proprietor of Clacton based Empire Builders, said: “I’m delighted and was completely surprised when I got the call to say I’d won. It didn’t fully sink in until I put the key in the ignition.”
Dave Poulton, manager of the Build Center branch on Oxford Road, said: “Nick has bought his timber supplies from us for more than 15 years and it’s great the winner is a longstanding customer from our branch.”
Easi-Edge is one of the recent additions to the range of Chain of Custody certified timber available at Build Center. This certification guarantees the supply of legal and sustainable timber sourced from certified, well-managed forests.

Of course, the simple answer is timber. But timber really is too small a word for everything we do. Hundreds of products, none of them run of the mill. We live it. And, if we could, we'd breathe it too.
