Provision of Timber Carcassing For ITV's "With A Little Help From My Friends" Programme
BSW Timber, the UK's largest sawmilling business, has donated timber to Liverpool's Alder Hey hospital as part of celebrity Kerry McFadden's challenge on ITV's programme, "With A Little Help from My Friends" due for broadcast on Saturday 20 November.
BSW were approached for the donation via one of its stockists, Beesley & Fildes, builders merchants with outlets in the Liverpool area, who also supplied materials to the programme. BSW Timber donated £400 worth of 75 x 75 timber carcassing to help Kerry complete her challenge, which has been used to create the perimeter fence of a sensory garden.
Kerry's challenge was to build a huge playground for children at the Alder Hey hospital, close to where she grew up in Warrington and near to where many of her friends still live. Kerry had just five days to complete her challenge - to turn a building site into a playground, a sensory garden and a multi-purpose sports pitch for basketball and football.
Bryan Crennell, BSW Timber Marketing Manager, says, "We were delighted that we were able to support such a worthwhile cause and help to transform a rundown site into a safe playground area for children and their families to relax whilst visiting the hospital."
Jeff Stanton, Beesley and Fildes Sales Director, says: "We were approached by the programme makers to help out as it's a local project and we're a local company with outlets in the area, it all seemed to tie together for a very good cause."
